CREATIC brings hope to people with rare diseases

CREATIC was launched by the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University as a unique international initiative focused on researching, developing and producing advanced therapies for patients living with rare diseases: especially where standard treatment options are limited or do not exist. The project’s ambition is to shorten translational pathways and increase real-world patient impact through responsible, clinically anchored innovation.

What the launch highlighted
  • A major step for advanced therapies and personalised medicine in Central Europe
  • A focus on rare and paediatric conditions where unmet medical need is high
  • A platform connecting academic research, clinical practice, regulation and policy
  • Commitment to sustainable, non-commercial pathways where traditional markets may not deliver

Building European capacity in Brno

CREATIC (Central European Advanced Therapy and Immunology Centre) is based at the Bohunice University Campus and is being developed in renovated Building C03. The project is supported by international collaboration with leading European partners to strengthen expertise in areas such as clinical translation, manufacturing readiness and responsible implementation.

  • Location: Bohunice University Campus, Brno (Building C03)
  • A European Teaming project supporting long-term capacity building
  • Collaboration across academia, hospitals, regulators and innovation stakeholders
  • Knowledge transfer and cross-border connectivity supporting patient access

By linking scientific excellence with clinical delivery and health-system realities, CREATIC aims to help turn breakthrough ideas into therapies that can reach patients safely, efficiently and sustainably: even when patient populations are small.
