The online video platform DVTV recently featured an interview with immunologist Lenka Zdražilová Dubská, whose research is also part of MUNI | CREATIC. The discussion covered the development of new treatments, major breakthroughs in cancer research, and the role of personalized cancer vaccines for paediatric patients. These vaccines, developed in our laboratories, aim to stimulate the patient’s immune system using dendritic cells derived from their own blood. While these cells do not attack the tumour directly, they play a crucial role in activating immune responses that target cancer cells. Personalized cancer vaccines are particularly important for paediatric patients with high-risk solid tumours, where conventional treatment options remain limited.
